Our first POL hens to arrive in 2012 will be available late Feb/early March. If the breed you are looking for is currently out of stock they should be available then! Alternitively Contact us as and ask for what breeds are currently available in our mixed breeds/mixed ages birds, if you are happy with an older hen.

All of these hens are £13.00 each.
Rangers

The ranger will lay over 300 eggs a year and they will be brown in colour. They will make a very good pet as they can become very and will be good with children. One of the best hens we have. Other names for them; Warrens, Goldline.

Bovans Nera

Similar to the Black Rock, this hen will lay from 260 up to 300 eggs year. They are bred from a Rhode island cockerel and a Barred Plymouth Rock hen. Her eggs will be a medium brown. She is a hardy bird and will become tame.

Light Sussex

This hen is bred for the table and for laying. She will average around 240-260 light brown eggs a year.  She has a calm temperment which makes her become a good pet.

Sliver Sussex

This is a very attractive hen. She is very calm and relaxed. She makes a good  pet as she is good with children and will adapt to most environments. She will lay 240-260 brown eggs a year.





Speckly

This hen has cuckoo markings making it a very beautiful bird. She is crossed with maran and a barred Plymouth rock. She will lay around 240-260 eggs dark brown eggs. She is a placid bird.

White Star

The white star is a leghorn cross. She will lay around 300-320 pure white eggs a year. She is a smaller then the other breeds. She makes a good free range bird however she will always remain slightly flightly, so not a good pet for children.

Amber Star

The amber star is a calm inquisitive hen. She will lay 260-280 eggs a year. The eggs will be light brown in colour. She is a good as a free range bird and a good pet with her friendly nature. She is white in colour with brown markings.
 

Rhode Star

This hen is light on her feet. She is a good egg layer laying around 250-260 a year. She has a calm nature and is a good pet. She loves to explore and is good with children.

Nib bluebell

The Nib Bluebell is a grey/blue coloured bird. She is placid and calm and makes a sweet pet. She is good with children and loves to roam the garden. she lays 240-260 eggs a year and the eggs are brown in colour described as having a plum blush.
